Overview

GAMSMAP is a collection of GAMS routines and data files to create specific MapInfo© maps. The tools grew out of a project we did with one of our clients in which we sought to speed up by replacing hand drawn maps by automatically created maps. Because of the proprietary nature of the work, we are not able to release the geographical and related data, but provide the same general capabilities for publicly available data.

Background

The Kestrel client/server is a way of sending your GAMS solve job to be solved via the NEOS Server from within your usual GAMS modeling environment and receiving results that can be processed as with any local solver. The solve statement using the GAMS/KESTREL solver invokes a “client” program that sends your problem to a solver running on one of the NEOS Server's remote computers. The results from the NEOS Server are eventually returned through Kestrel to GAMS, where you can view an…

Some of our users have developed software that helps them use GAMS more efficiently or enables them to interface GAMS with other systems or software packages they use to do their work. If you would like to contribute some of your software, we can help you to make it publicly accessible - just drop us a line.
